Job summary

PehuTec Oy in Finland is seeking an experienced R&D Project Manager with a strong electronics engineering background to lead multidisciplinary product development projects from concept to production readiness.

You will manage schedules, budgets, and technical risks across electronics, mechanics, embedded software, and product approvals while collaborating with customers and engineering teams; fluent Finnish is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in electronics and hardware product development.
• Experience in technical project management or leading multidisciplinary R&D projects.

R&D Project Manager – Electronics & Product Development

Location: Oulu or Helsinki, Finland

PehuTec Oy is looking for an experienced R&D Project Manager with a strong electronics engineering background to succeed our retiring expert.

We offer an opportunity to lead challenging customer projects covering the entire product development lifecycle, from concept and system architecture to detailed design, verification, certification, and production readiness.

In this role, you will take overall responsibility for multidisciplinary R&D projects involving electronics, mechanics, embedded software, and product approvals. You will work closely with customers, sales, and engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Leading complete R&D projects, including electronics, mechanics, embedded software, and product certifications
• Managing project schedules, budgets, resources, technical risks, and deliverables
• Defining product requirements, system architectures, and technical solutions with customers and engineering teams
• Providing technical leadership, particularly in electronics and hardware development
• Coordinating verification, validation, regulatory compliance, and product approvals
• Supporting sales with technical proposals, quotations, and effort estimates
• Acting as a key technical contact for customers throughout the development process

What We Expect from You

• Strong background and several years of experience in electronics and hardware product development
• Experience in technical project management or leading multidisciplinary R&D projects
• Good understanding of electronics design, schematics, PCB design, and system architectures
• Understanding of mechanical design, embedded software, and system integration
• Knowledge of product compliance and certification processes (e.g. CE, EMC, RF, electrical safety)
• Ability to manage projects, lead engineering teams, and communicate effectively with customers
• Fluent Finnish is mandatory to succeed in this role

Experience with Altium Designer, customer-specific R&D projects, and taking products into mass production is considered an advantage.
