Job summary

Winthrop Technologies, a Dublin-headquartered data centre delivery partner, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its growing team in Finland. You will manage commercial activities across multiple turnkey data centre packages, reporting to the Commercial Manager.

The role requires a degree with 5+ years' experience in main or specialist contracting, with strong MEP knowledge, budgeting and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying with 5+ years' experience in main contracting or specialist contracting.
• Strong understanding of MEP installations and processes.
• Familiarity with measurement methods.
• Excellent budgeting and financial forecasting skills.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience with Buildsoft or CostX is advantageous.
• Data Centre experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Procure key subcontract packages and manage commercial elements.
• Prepare and manage budgets, ITTs and tender analysis.
• Prepare and agree subcontract documents.
• Oversee commercial management from order to final account.
• Monitor costs, cash flow and entitlements.
• Engage with clients, subcontractors, designers and internal teams.
• Submit contractually compliant commercial documentation.
• Develop external valuations and negotiate variations.
• Regular cost/value reporting and conflict resolution.
• Mentor junior commercial team members.

Winthrop specialises in providing turnkey data centre solutions, providing services from design, through to construction across the full range of civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical services as well as commissioning.

We are currently constructing multiple turnkey data centre projects in 7 different European countries, equating to over 430 MW of IT load in flight.

We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding team in Finland. Reporting into the Commercial Manager.

Requirements

• Work with the senior project team to procure key subcontract packages and other critical elements of the works.
• Generating quantified work packages, ITTs & budgets from technical documents. Analysis & presentation of tender returns
• Preparation and agreement of subcontract documents
• Commercial management of multiple subcontract packages from order through to final account, monthly payments, variation and claims management
• Continuous monitoring of costs and financial entitlement on the packages / projects under your control
• Active engagement with stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, designers and internal team members.
• Submission of contractually compliant commercial documentation.
• Development, submission and agreement of external valuations.
• Negotiation and agreement of variations, omissions and final accounts with subcontractors and clients in a timely and professional manner.
• Regular cost / value and cash flow reporting
• Pro-actively work to resolve conflicts where possible.
• Supervision and development of junior members of the commercial team

Skills / Qualifications:

• Relevant degree with 5+ years' experience in a main contracting and / or specialist contracting environment with a particular focus on mechanical and electrical works
• Strong technical understanding of MEP installations & processes
• Familiarity with various methods of measurement
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong business relationships
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent budgeting and financial forecasting skills
• Familiarity with Buildsoft, CostX or similar is advantageous
• Data Centre experience is advantageous
