Job description

Helsinki Metropolitan Area, Finland | Full-Time | On-Site

EvolveTalent® is supporting an international technology and engineering organisation in the confidential search for an experienced Quality Manager in Finland. This is a key leadership role within a technically complex environment, combining people leadership, quality management, customer quality, structured problem solving and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will lead and develop a team of approximately 10 quality professionals and play an important role in strengthening the organisation's quality capabilities and further professionalising its quality function. We are looking for someone who combines genuine quality expertise with a strong technical or engineering understanding and who is comfortable working closely with engineering teams, customers and other cross-functional stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities

Quality Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of quality professionals.
  • Set clear quality priorities and support the team in achieving customer and business quality objectives.
  • Strengthen professional quality expertise within the organisation.
  • Coach teams in structured problem-solving and quality methodologies.
  • Promote a strong quality culture across engineering and cross-functional teams.
  • Act as a quality leader and sparring partner for management and technical stakeholders.

Customer & Quality Management

  • Take ownership of significant customer quality topics and ensure effective and timely resolution.
  • Work closely with customers, engineering, R&D, manufacturing, sales, technical support and other relevant functions.
  • Ensure that customer requirements and the voice of the customer are understood and reflected throughout the organisation.
  • Support customer communication during complex quality incidents.
  • Participate in customer meetings, visits and audits when required.
  • Contribute to continuously improving customer satisfaction and quality performance.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead and facilitate structured problem-solving processes for complex technical quality issues.
  • Apply methodologies such as 8D, A3, root cause analysis and other recognised quality tools.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams during major quality investigations.
  • Ensure that corrective actions address underlying causes rather than only immediate symptoms.
  • Develop and improve quality processes and working practices.
  • Support preventive quality activities and sustainable continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that lessons learned are translated into effective preventive actions.
Your Background

We are looking for an experienced quality professional with a strong technical foundation.

Ideally, you bring:

  • A university degree or equivalent technical education in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
  • Approximately 10 years of relevant professional experience, although the depth and relevance of your quality expertise are more important than the exact number of years.
  • Several years of substantial experience in quality within a technical, engineering or industrial environment.
  • Strong expertise in quality management, customer quality, structured problem solving or related quality disciplines.
  • Previous experience leading people, teams or significant cross-functional quality initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, A3, root cause analysis or similar approaches.
  • The technical understanding required to discuss complex quality issues effectively with engineers.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • The ability to work confidently with customers and senior internal stakeholders in an international environment.
What Will Make You Successful

We are looking for more than a general people manager. You should bring genuine quality expertise and be able to provide a strong professional quality perspective when collaborating with experienced technical teams.

You do not need to be the deepest engineering expert in the organisation, but you should be able to understand technical discussions, ask the right questions and translate complex issues into structured quality actions.

You will likely enjoy this role if you:
  • See quality as a professional expertise and not simply a support function.
  • Enjoy developing people and raising the maturity of a quality organisation.
  • Are analytical and systematic when solving complex problems.
  • Combine customer orientation with technical credibility.
  • Know how to transform lessons learned into sustainable improvements.
  • Are comfortable constructively challenging existing ways of working.
Location

The position is based in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, Finland, and requires regular presence with the local organisation.

Candidates based elsewhere in Finland who are open to relocation or regular presence in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area are also welcome to apply.

Confidential Recruitment Process

This search is being conducted confidentially. Further information about the organisation and the position will be shared with suitable candidates during the recruitment process.

All applications and conversations will be handled with strict confidentiality.
