Job summary

Elenia Oy is seeking a Project Engineer for its Construction unit in Tampere. The role focuses on safe, high-quality grid construction projects and close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure reliable delivery.

You will support project managers, work on development and information production, and contribute to ongoing process improvements. The position starts in autumn 2026 and is based in Tampere.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/energy engineering or near completion.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking a Project Engineer for our Construction business unit. Our unit is responsible for the construction of electrical grid projects and ensuring successful execution with a focus on safety, quality and customer orientation. The role is based in Tampere and involves close collaboration with partners and internal stakeholders to guarantee grid development and delivery reliability now and in the future.

As a Project Engineer you will be part of the project team supporting project managers and advancing electrical grid construction projects. The role combines project work, development and information production.

Responsibilities

• ensuring smooth execution of your own construction projects with support from project managers and coordinators
• acting as safety coordinator for your own projects
• producing and compiling information for various reports and decision support
• supporting design and implementation phases with experts
• contributing to development of operating models and processes
• collaborating with internal and external stakeholders such as partners, other network operators and operators
• and growing into project management expertise with potential to take on larger, more demanding project portfolios in the future

Requirements

• a suitable university degree or nearing completion (e.g., electrical/energy engineering)
• understanding of project work, construction or a technical operating environment
• ability to grasp complex tasks and improve operations
• proactive and responsible work attitude
• strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
• fluency in Finnish and willingness to work in English
