Job summary

Imagine The Future Consulting Ltd is seeking a Project Commissioning Lead to drive commissioning activities for data center projects across Europe. You will coordinate a multidisciplinary team, develop and execute testing plans, and lead on-site verification through Levels 2–4 while collaborating with clients and vendors.

The role emphasizes meticulous planning, proactive problem solving, and the ability to manage schedules and stakeholder expectations across international sites.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years of commissioning experience, Data Center preferred or similar mission critical sectors.
• Strong discipline background in Mechanical, Electrical or Controls; related qualifications are advantageous.
• Willingness to travel in Europe; weekly travel Monday to Friday as required by projects.
• Proficient in video conferencing for regular communication with lead/director and clients.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively and meet tight deadlines while delivering high-quality project work.
• IT literacy: laptop use and standard software; Google Workspace, Excel & Word.
• Salary fully negotiable; both permanent and contract positions considered.
• Ability to work across factory, site and home environments as needed.

Project Commissioning Lead - Job Description

Imagine The Future Consulting Ltd (ITF) was started by Mark Sathyaseelan, established in 2007; is a fast growing, dynamic and developing commissioning engineering consultancy. The last 4 years have seen exponential growth and we are now looking at building on the experiences and success we have had. We still consider ourselves as a start-up and have a start-up philosophy currently.

We work in the Data Center industry and offer commissioning services to our clients across EMEA. These include programmatic commissioning design development to physical execution as the client commissioning agents (currently operating in at least 5 countries across EMEA). We often are involved with trouble shooting existing projects and we have a number of blue chip clients.

We have developed our own in house planning software for large construction projects which can be used for both Construction and Commissioning.

The ideal candidate will possess a meticulous attention to detail, is a self starter and will have a proactive approach to problem‑solving. A background in Commissioning ideally in the data center industry or other mission critical or similar services sector is highly desirable.

The role requires a strong technical background - Mechanical, Electrical or Controls as part of an integrated team. The ideal candidate will need to support other team members as part of the project delivery model.

Main Responsibility Overview (but not limited to):

• Work as part of a team on a project as the Commissioning Lead reporting to the Operational Director.


• Manage and liaise with multiple stakeholders including client, GCs, vendors and operational teams.


• Authoring of testing plans and scripts.


• Witness and run testing on site through Levels 2, 3 and 4. Working under the SPC as the Commissioning Managers.


• With other team members, run integrated system testing (IST).


• Quality assurance, engaging in construction completion walkdowns, identification & recommendation of issues as appropriate measures to close.


• Documentation tracking


• Review Commissioning Schedules; Looking at durations and sequences and recommending best practice.


• Creating / having input projects specific commissioning plans.


• Attend key meetings with the Lead Commissioning Manager as required. Attend other key meetings with other stakeholders as required.


• Prepare Loadbank plans


• Occasionally Lead morning and evening commissioning meetings


• Actively seek out solutions to technical problems that occur at a project level.


• Undertake commissionability reviews as part of a wider team.


• Create / having input into project Quality Plans

Locations Required:

Finland (and other locations in Europe).

Requirements, Experience and Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years of commissioning experience, Data Center preferred however other industry sectors would also be considered (ideally mission critical).


• Have a strong discipline background (Mechanical, Electrical or Controls). Having previous experience related to your discipline and or specific qualifications is advantageous.


• Be prepared to travel in Europe to factory testing sites and other key projects. Where travel is necessary we promote weekly travel based on Monday to Friday depending on the project.


• Be able to use video conferencing on a regular basis to communicate with the lead / director and other team members / clients.


• ITF will provide onboarding and support to get fully up to speed. We will also provide the necessary technical support as required through any of the projects.


• Ability to work collaboratively


• Proven ability to work to tight deadlines whilst producing high quality project work


• Use of laptop and general IT skills


• Use of Google workspace, Microsoft Excel & Word


• Salary fully negotiable depending upon experience. Both permanent and contract positions are considered.
