Job summary

ABB Oy Smart Power hakee Vaasan alueelle Product Engineering Manager -rooliin kokenutta mekaanisen suunnittelun ammattilaista. Vastaat vaihtuvien vaihtajien parantamisesta, 3D-mallien ja 2D-piirustusten ylläpidosta sekä tuotteiden suunnittelun muutosprosessien jalkauttamisesta tuotantoon.

Tehtävä vaatii BSc/MSc-tason koulutuksen, usean vuoden kokemuksen mekaanisesta suunnittelusta sekä Creo- ja Windchill-osaamista. Sujuva suomen- ja erinomainen englannin kielen taito katsotaan eduksi.

Qualifications

• Vankka muodollinen koulutus kone- tai vastaavalta alalta (BSc/MSc).
• Vähintään muutaman vuoden kokemus mekaanisesta suunnittelusta.
• Hyvät ongelmanratkaisu- ja tiimityötaidot.
• Hyvä CAD-osaaminen ( Creo tms. ) ja PLM-järjestelmäkäsittely (Windchill tms.).
• Sujuva suomenkieli ja hyvä englannin suullinen/kirjallinen taito.

Responsibilities

• Päivitetään 3D-mallinnusta ja 2D-piirustuksia Creo-ohjelmalla parantaen tuotteen ominaisuuksia.
• Tarjotaan teknistä tukea laatu-, tuotanto- sekä hankintatiimille.
• Vahvistetaan uusien osapohjien valmistustyökaluja (muovinen muottaus, teräksiset muottityökalut).
• Osallistutaan ongelmanratkaisuryhmiin ja kehityshankkeisiin.
• Valmistettavien tuotteiden komponenttien prototyyppien valmistus ja validointi.
• Käytännön suunnittelumuutosten jalkauttaminen tuotantoon yhdessä eri sidosryhmien kanssa.

Product Engineering Manager

We are now looking for a new Product Engineering Specialist to join us at ABB Oy, Smart Power in Vaasa. In this role, you will be responsible for product maintenance of switch products. With us you can release your inner innovator with rapid modeling and prototyping to solve practical problems. Your tasks include providing technical support for Quality, Production and Procurement teams, maintaining 3D-models and 2D-drawings related to product revisions and validating production parts from new manufacturing tools. You will also work with our R&D department introducing new products to our factory.

The Work Model For The Role Is

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Updating 3D-models and 2D-drawings with PTC Creo to meet product enhancement or optimization needs from different stakeholders.


• Offering technical support for the Quality, Production, Customer support and Procurement teams.


• Validating new part manufacturing tools (plastic injection moulds, steel stamping tools, etc.)


• Participating in problem-solving groups and development initiatives.


• Preparing and validating prototypes of switch product components.


• Implementing engineering changes to production in collaboration with different stakeholders (e.g. Quality team and R&D teams.)

Qualifications For The Role

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree from mechanical engineering or relevant field.


• A few years’ experience in mechanical design work.


• Good problem-solving capabilities and team working skills.


• Good knowledge of CAD softwares (Creo or similar) and PLM systems (Windchill or similar).


• Fluency in Finnish and English, both written and spoken.


• Knowledge about plastic moulding technologies and sheet metal production technologies is beneficial.


• Lean six sigma experience (e.g. yellow belt, green belt) is beneficial.
