Job summary

Nitor is seeking a Product Designer to take a product from discovery to production. You will work in client product teams alongside Nitoreans, shaping AI-native design and rigorously validating with research and code collaboration.

You’ll influence how AI is integrated into UX and work on building the AI fluency of our design community, while leveraging strong Figma skills and accessibility practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of product design experience with shipped digital products.

Job description

Your role as a Product Designer

You take a product from problem to working solution and own the design from discovery to production. You work inside our clients' product teams alongside other Nitoreans, in engagements that typically last from one to several years. Our clients include some of Finland's best-known consumer brands.

AI runs through your process, from exploring more directions faster to moving from idea to working prototype in hours, synthesising research and working on real code with engineers. You also help clients see where AI belongs in their products and where it doesn't, and how it changes the way their teams design and build.

Beyond client work, you help shape how Nitor approaches AI-native design, from the tools and ways of working we adopt to how we grow AI fluency across our design community.

What could you bring with you?

• 10+ years of relevant product design experience and a track record of shipped digital products, ideally in consumer-facing services, retail and/or e-commerce
• Hands-on experience from a team where AI tools were part of the design and development process and roles were shaped around it, for example designers building working prototypes or contributing to production code
• Fluency in AI-assisted prototyping and coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or Figma Make, and a clear sense of when to put them down
• Strong Figma skills. Design systems experience is a plus
• User research and validation skills, including using AI to speed up synthesis without losing rigour
• The ability to work directly with engineers on the codebase, understanding component structure, reading and editing front-end code, and shipping design changes yourself when that's the fastest route
• Solid accessibility skills. You design to WCAG as a matter of course and use AI tools to speed up accessibility reviews and fixes, while knowing where they fall short. Accessibility certifications such as IAAP CPACC or WAS are a plus
• Experience designing products or features where AI is part of the customer experience is a plus, along with a critical eye for when it shouldn't be
• A consulting mindset, meaning you're comfortable facilitating, coaching and building capability in client teams, not only delivering designs
• Professional fluency in Finnish, as many of our clients require it, and fluent English, as a large part of our client teams and our own community work in English
• A portfolio, required with your application, with at least one case where you worked in an AI-native way. Tell us what you did, how AI changed your process or the outcome, and what you learned
