Futurice seeks a Principal Consultant, Strategy & Renewal to drive AI-enabled transformation for Nordic public and security sector clients, with a base in Helsinki or Tampere and a flexible hybrid setup. You will lead strategy work, shape opportunities, and grow client accounts while guiding multidisciplinary teams and engaging senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years in management consulting or in a senior in‑house role driving digital, technology, data or AI strategy and transformation
• Experience leveraging AI and technology for business and process development
• Sales capability in strategic services around AI strategy and business transformation
• Experience in client management and new business development
• Strong storytelling and PowerPoint skills for executive narratives
• Delivery lead experience with multidisciplinary teams and delivering outcomes
• Fluent Finnish and English; Swedish is a bonus when expanding in the Nordics

About the role

As a Principal Consultant, Strategy & Renewal, you work at the intersection of executive strategy consulting, AI-enabled transformation and business development. In addition to hands‑on consulting work with clients, the role requires active involvement in sales, shaping opportunities, and growing client accounts as well as contributing to internal development within the service line.

In client work, you help organizations to lead an AI transformation by designing the strategies, building an impactful business and operations, and co‑developing effective and sustainable operating models and the capabilities. Your work typically begins by understanding the client’s current state, defining an ambitious yet realistic target state, creating a feasible strategy and /or roadmap for transformation, and driving change to create impact. You act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders and lead multidisciplinary teams.

In this role you will work with Finland’s public and security sector organisations. Your home base will be Helsinki or Tampere, with a flexible hybrid setup and some travel to client sites in the future within the Nordics.

• AI & technology strategies

• Enterprise architecture & capability development in AI era

You don’t need to master all of these areas, but we expect you to feel comfortable taking a leading role across several of them.

What helps you succeed:

• Experience with the public sector and/or security sector in consulting delivery projects or in‑house roles.
• 5–10+ years of experience in management consulting or in a senior in‑house role driving digital, technology, data or AI strategy and transformation
• Experience from the past two years in leveraging AI, and technology for business and process development.
• Sales capability in strategic services, especially around AI strategy and business transformation driven by emerging technologies (opportunity shaping, proposals, executive storytelling)
• Experience in client management and new business development
• Confidence working with C‑level stakeholders
• Strong storytelling and PowerPoint skills — you can turn complex topics into clear, compelling executive‑level narratives
• Solid experience designing and facilitating workshops that bring structure, clarity, and alignment
• Experience acting as a delivery lead, leading multidisciplinary teams and ensuring quality and outcomes
• A relevant university degree (business, technology, industrial engineering, etc.)
• Familiarity with business design, service design, lean startup or agile approaches is a plus
• Strong communication skills in Finnish and English. Swedish is a benefit as we expand in the Nordics.

You are structured, curious and comfortable with complexity. You enjoy working closely with clients, can confidently engage with senior stakeholders, and are motivated by building both client impact and internal capabilities.

Your complete compensation package will be discussed in detail during the recruitment process. Our salary model is designed to offer a range of levels based on three factors: skills, responsibilities and impact. During the initial interview round, we will discuss the salary range for this position. We offer a fixed salary with the possibility of performance‑based bonuses and additional benefits.
