Job summary

Smartly is seeking a Product Data Analyst to help product teams understand how customers use the platform, how to invest effectively, and how launches create value. You will work in a Data Analytics squad, collaborating with Product, Design, Engineering, and Data Engineering to build trusted data products and answer product questions.

This role blends analytics engineering with product analytics, writing code, building models, and delivering dashboards as a by-product of durable data solutions.

Qualifications

• Advanced SQL with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery) and complex transforms.
• dbt or similar workflow with modular design and testing.
• Python for data tooling, automation, and tooling beyond dashboards.
• Strong product-analytics judgment across funnels, cohorts, retention, and impact.

Responsibilities

• Build production-quality dbt models in BigQuery and product marts.
• Define grain, keys, joins, types, history, and performance before implementation.
• Write clean, tested code with version control and reviews.
• Turn recurring questions into durable, self-service data products.
• Partner with PMs and engineers on instrumentation, data contracts, and validation.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, and reliability before users use it.
