Job summary

University of Oulu invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Research Group on Computational Uncertainty Quantification. The role focuses on Bayesian inverse problems, uncertainty quantification, and developing priors and scalable methods.

You will contribute to software development in Python, collaborate internationally, supervise students, and engage in teaching activities within the Mathematical Sciences unit. This is a fixed-term, full-time position in Oulu.

Qualifications

• PhD in mathematics, applied mathematics, or closely related field.
• Strong mathematical analysis background andinverse problems knowledge.
• Experience in scientific computing and Python development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent and collaborative research in Bayesian inverse problems and uncertainty quantification.
• Develop new Bayesian priors and high-dimensional posterior methods.
• Contribute to research software development in Python.
• Collaborate with international partners and supervise students.
