Job summary

Vallum Associates seeks a Planning Manager to lead the integrated master programme for a large-scale design and build project. You will coordinate across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover to drive performance and ensure on-schedule delivery.

The role demands an engineering or construction PM degree, extensive Primavera P6 expertise, and strong stakeholder management in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, PM, or related discipline.
  • Proven experience as Planning Manager or Senior Planner on large-scale construction projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and project controls.
  • Experience in data centres, mission-critical, industrial or complex infra projects is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, multidisciplinary project environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the integrated master programme.
  • Coordinate planning across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Maintain project baselines and ensure programme accuracy.
  • Monitor progress, analyse critical paths, identify risks and delays.
  • Produce progress reports, look-ahead schedules and dashboards.
  • Lead planning meetings with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support construction sequencing, logistics planning, and delivery strategies.
  • Assess impacts from design changes, procurement delays, and risks.
  • Assist extension of time assessments and delay analysis.
  • Provide programme reporting and planning advice to senior management and clients.
  • Mentor and support project planners and promote best practice.

Type: Permanent (3/1 rotation - 3 weeks working on site - 1 week off back home)

This is an exciting opportunity to lead all planning and scheduling activities on a large


scale construction project, working alongside senior project leadership to drive


programme performance from design through to commissioning and handover.


As Planning Manager, you'll be responsible for developing and managing the integrated


project programme, monitoring progress, identifying risks, and ensuring projects are


delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule.


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop, maintain, and manage the integrated master project programme using

  • Coordinate planning activities across engineering, procurement, construction,

  • commissioning, and handover.

  • Establish and maintain project baselines while ensuring programme accuracy

  • throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Monitor project progress, analyse critical path activities, and identify risks,

  • delays, and recovery opportunities.

  • Produce regular progress reports, look-ahead schedules, dashboards, and

  • Lead planning meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including

  • Engineering, and Commissioning.

  • Support construction sequencing, logistics planning, and project delivery

  • strategies.

  • Assess programme impacts arising from design changes, procurement delays,

  • and project risks.

  • Support extension of time assessments, recovery planning, and delay analysis.

  • Provide accurate programme reporting and planning advice to senior

  • management and client stakeholders.

  • Mentor and support project planners while promoting best practice across the

  • planning function.


About You


  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, Project

  • Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience as a Planning Manager or Senior Planner on large-scale

  • construction projects.

  • Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6.

  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, project controls, and

  • Previous experience within data centres, mission-critical, industrial,

  • pharmaceutical, or complex infrastructure projects is highly desirable.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Confident working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary project environment.
