Job summary

The University of Turku invites applications for a 3-year, full-time Doctoral Researcher position within the MSCA Doctoral Networks program. The project focuses on ischemic heart disease and multiorgan perfusion using the long axial field of view (LAFOV) PET/CT, with secondments to Copenhagen, Edinburgh, and Siemens Healthineers to advance imaging analytics.

Qualifications

• PhD candidate status at recruitment (no doctoral degree yet).
• MSc degree or equivalent in Medical Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Medicine or Health Biosciences.
• Very good command of English; Finnish skills beneficial.
• Willingness to travel and work in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Ability to pursue a doctoral degree and obtain approval before employment confirmation.
• Experience with medical imaging data is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on LAFOV PET/CT clinical research to increase clinical applicability.
• Develop and evaluate methods to measure perfusion across multiple organs during routine myocardial perfusion exams.
• Perform multi-organ kinetic analysis and implement parametric LAFOV imaging with reconstruction tools.
• Engage in secondments to partner institutions and industrial partners for data and software exchange.
