Job description

Mehiläinen is seeking personal assistants in Helsinki for shift work in caring client cases. As a personal assistant, your tasks include assisting the client with daily activities such as housework, shopping, and hobbies outside the home. The role also includes hygiene assistance, use of assistive devices, and caregiving elements. The job is unhurried and you can concretely improve the client’s everyday life. We value education or experience in caregiving, but an attitude is decisive if experience is lacking.

The client or their authorized person is the employer, Mehiläinen is the employer. We are looking for staff for morning, evening and night shifts every day of the week, as shifts are determined by the client’s needs. We take your shift preferences into account and aim to find care recipients with good travel connections near you. We also strive to find long‑term, familiar care recipients for every employee. We expect reliability and the ability to commit to caregiving work long‑term. As a national employer we can offer work in changing life situations.

Applicants must be of legal age, speak Finnish at least at B1 level, be reliable, proactive and friendly with a customer‑oriented attitude. During the recruitment process the caregiver must provide a criminal record extract for working with the elderly and disabled.

In Helsinki region, pay starts at G16 wage class with hourly pay depending on years of experience: 12.89–14.32 EUR per hour. Additional allowances for evenings +15%, nights +40%, Saturdays +25% and Sundays/holidays +100%. For gig‑work contracts, a holiday pay of 9% of the hourly wage is paid in addition. From 1 September 2026, with G16A wage class depending on experience the pay is 13.31–14.71 EUR.
