Actiw is seeking an OT/IT Engineer to design and implement OT and IT solutions for international automation projects. You will work with Linux servers, virtualization, databases, and industrial networks, focusing on secure, scalable architectures.

The role is permanent, full-time with a hybrid workplace in Jyväskylä or Pieksämäki and occasional travel within Finland and abroad. You will collaborate with software, electrical, and automation engineers and support RFQ activities.

We are looking for an OT/IT Engineer to join Actiw and work on OT and IT solutions for international automation system projects.

Would you be our new OT/IT Engineer?
As an OT/IT Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing OT and IT solutions for our automation system projects. Your work will combine servers, networks, industrial IT and cybersecurity. You will be involved in different stages of our projects, from design and configuration to testing, documentation, commissioning and support. In practice, you will work with Linux servers, virtual machines, databases and industrial networks, as well as design and configure network solutions, switches, routers and firewalls.

An important part of your role will be ensuring the cybersecurity of the systems we deliver. Your responsibilities will include managing access rights, secure remote connections and updates, as well as documenting technical solutions. You will work closely with our software, electrical and automation engineers and project teams, as well as our customers’ IT, OT and cybersecurity specialists, turning their requirements into practical technical solutions. You will also support our sales team in reviewing customer OT/IT requirements during the RFQ phase and defining suitable technical solutions.

In addition to customer projects, you will develop and maintain standardized and reusable OT/IT solutions, such as server and VM templates, reference network architectures and security configurations. You will also help ensure that our solutions comply with relevant OT/IT standards and regulations. As this is a new role at Actiw, you will also have the opportunity to shape the position and contribute to the development of our OT/IT expertise.

This is a permanent, full-time position, and you will be employed directly by Actiw. Your primary workplace will be in Jyväskylä or Pieksämäki, with a hybrid working model that allows you to work remotely a few days a week. The role may also include occasional travel within Finland and abroad.

What are we looking for?

You have a relevant educational background, for example in information technology, automation or electrical engineering. You have already gained relevant practical work experience in technical environments and are familiar with industrial IT and automation.

We expect you to have experience with Linux server environments and a good understanding of computer networks and networking principles. Experience with virtualization, databases, network devices, firewalls and secure network solutions is also valued. A good understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals will help you succeed in the role. Knowledge of machine safety, industrial cybersecurity standards and relevant regulations is considered an advantage. You do not need to be an expert in every area from day one, but we expect you to have a solid technical foundation and a willingness to continuously develop your expertise.
