Job summary

Fortum in Espoo, Finland, invites applications for the Nordic Nuclear Trainee Program as Specialist, New Nuclear Engineering. The one-year, paid program combines hands-on engineering work with trainee activities and site visits across the Nordic nuclear sector.

Role focuses on geological site characterizations, rock construction planning and logistics, with rotation and mentoring to support Fortum’s New Nuclear projects. The program runs 2026–2027 and is designed for early-career engineers.

Qualifications

• Strong collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficient English; Finnish and/or Swedish are a plus.
• Systematic, organized, and goal oriented.
• Good interpersonal skills in a multicultural environment.
• Degree in civil/rock engineering, geology, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support geological site characterizations and rock construction planning.
• Coordinate site investigations and assessments.
• Assist in logistics planning for construction sites and projects.
• Contribute to developing Fortum's New Nuclear projects.
