Job summary

Jones Engineering in Hamina, Finland seeks a Mechanical Construction Manager to oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion. You will review project scopes, schedule deliverables, estimate costs, and ensure on-site and off-site construction compliance with building and safety regulations.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and industry experts to successfully deliver cutting edge projects, manage 12-week look-ahead schedules, and drive commissioning

Qualifications

• 10+ years in construction management roles, including pharmaceutical projects.
• 5+ years leading teams of supervisors and crafts with weekly reporting.
• Strong piping installation knowledge and quality standards.
• Experience with project scheduling and budget control.
• RAMS/HS compliance and safety program experience.

Responsibilities

Job Description

As a Mechanical Construction Manager, you will be pivotal to overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion. You will review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs, while overseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and industry experts to successfully deliver cutting edge projects.

• Ability to determine project schedule needs, provide support in the completion of project schedule, 12 weeks look aheads, reporting on site progress and highlighting future issues / roadblocks to progress to Main Contractor / Companies contracts manager.
• Conduct regular safety walks of the site and report to site supervisor for closure.
• Conduct regular quality walks of the site and report to site supervisor for closure.
• Lead commissioning activities ensuring timely completion and reporting of roadblock and follow up to ensure prompt closure.

Skills And Requirements

• 10+ years' experience in a construction manager / senior supervisor role, must include pharmaceutical.
• 5+ years' experience in team management (supervisors and craft manloader planning and execution, productivity management, up to 10 supervisors and 100 craft) and weekly reporting to Contracts Manager.
• Excellent technical knowledge of piping – supporting, installation, welding, testing, sloping and handover.
• Excellent technical knowledge of quality requirements associated with piping installation.
• Strong knowledge of Navisworks 3D model navigation, isometric drawings and supervisor workpack monitoring.
• Strong experience in management of project schedule.
• Commercially aware.
• Good knowledge of construction health and safety requirements and the implementation of RAMS, SPA’s, and other daily / weekly H&S requirements.
• Background in piping installation with experience in hygienic piping and orbital welding an advantage.
• Third level qualification in construction / mechanical engineering a distinct advantage.
