Job summary

Wärtsilä is a global technology leader in marine and energy markets, seeking a Manager / General Manager, Strategy to shape Marine's direction and translate it into business impact. You will work with senior leaders across the organisation, take ownership of strategic topics, lead cross-functional projects and build robust business cases.

Qualifications

• Experience in management consulting, ideally with a leading strategy or management consulting firm.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to connect industry dynamics, competitive positioning and financial performance.
• Excellent understanding of P&L, business performance and value creation.
• Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects from inception to implementation.

Responsibilities

• Shape Marine’s strategy by translating market developments, customer needs, technology shifts and competitive dynamics into clear choices and priorities.
• Partner with Marine and Business Unit Management Teams to set objectives, challenge assumptions and strengthen decision-making.
• Turn priorities into action, establish accountability and track progress and impact.
• Identify and assess growth opportunities across markets, services, technologies, business models and the portfolio.
• Lead projects covering market assessment, competitive positioning, segments, products and geographies.
• Build robust business and financial cases to guide investment decisions.
• Evaluate M&A, venture and partnership opportunities with Business Units and Corporate Functions.
• Anticipate changes in the competitive environment and translate insights into Marine strategy implications.
