Job summary

Wärtsilä is seeking a Manager/General Manager, Strategy to shape Marine’s direction and translate strategy into business impact. You will work with senior leaders across the organisation to set objectives, challenge assumptions and drive initiatives that create value.

The role requires an MSc or MBA background and a track record in management consulting, with strong commercial acumen and P&L understanding. Helsinki, Vaasa or Turku are preferred locations, with other European hubs considered.

Qualifications

• Experience in management consulting at a leading firm.
• Strong commercial acumen linking industry dynamics to financial performance.
• Excellent understanding of P&L, business performance and value creation.
• Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects from question to implementation.
• Clear communication and presentation skills with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Shape Marine’s strategy and translate market developments into priorities.
• Partner with management teams to set objectives and challenge assumptions.
• Turn priorities into actionable plans with accountability and measurable impact.
• Identify growth opportunities across markets, services, technologies and geographies.
• Build robust business and financial cases to guide investments and assess opportunities.
