Job summary

Wärtsilä Corporation in Finland seeks a Manager/General Manager, Strategy to shape Marine’s direction and translate it into business impact. You will work with senior leaders, taking ownership of strategic topics and initiatives.

You will lead projects on market assessment, competitive positioning, and growth across geographies, building robust financial cases and guiding investments. Reporting to the VP, Strategy, Marine.

Qualifications

• Experience in management consulting, ideally with a leading strategy firm.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to connect industry dynamics to value creation.
• Excellent understanding of P&L, business performance and value creation.

Responsibilities

• Shape Marine’s strategy by translating market developments into clear choices and priorities.
• Partner with Marine and BU Management to set objectives and strengthen decision-making.
• Turn priorities into action with accountability and measurable impact.
• Identify growth opportunities across markets, services, technologies, and geographies.
• Lead projects on market assessment, competitive positioning, segments, and products.
• Build robust business and financial cases to guide investments.
• Evaluate M&A, ventures and partnerships with Business Units and Corporate Functions.
• Align internal and external messaging with Marine’s direction.
