Job summary

Valmet in Espoo, Finland, seeks a Manager, Group Control to own the Group’s management-reporting and annual planning processes. The role focuses on timely, reliable reporting, and continuous improvement with AI-enabled forecasting and analytics. This fixed-term maternity cover runs through autumn 2027, based in Espoo.

You will lead the group reporting close, planning governance, and master data controls while collaborating across functions and countries. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience in group reporting, consolidation, or FP&A within international organizations.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS-based group reporting.
• Proven ability to lead processes and collaborate across organizational boundaries.
• Excellent English communication, both written and spoken.
• Experience with Oracle HFM, Anaplan or other EPM platforms is advantageous.
• AI-enabled solutions for finance processes and data validation are beneficial.
• Power BI or similar BI tools advantageous.

• Own the annual planning process, including calendar, instructions, control gates, validation and closure.
• Manage Group estimate submissions and validation; govern finance master data, cost centers, hierarchies and allocations.
• Partner with Finance Development to identify and implement AI-enabled improvements in reporting and planning controls.
• Collaborate to define reporting requirements for Oracle HFM and planning for Anaplan, reflected in AI-driven forecasting and analytics developments.

Manager, Group Control – Lead Group Management-reporting and Planning ExcellenceWe are looking for a Manager, Group Control to take ownership of the Group’s management-reporting and annual planning processes. You will ensure timely, reliable and well-controlled reporting and planning, working closely with finance colleagues across businesses, countries and functions.You will join at a time when we are actively bringing AI and data-driven ways of working into our finance processes. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who wants to make a visible impact at Group level and contribute to the development of reporting and planning.This is a fixed-term position covering maternity leave until autumn 2027, with a preferred start as soon as possible. The position is based in Espoo, Finland.Your responsibilitiesLead the Group management-reporting process, including the reporting calendar, management-reporting close, validation and quality controls.Own and coordinate the annual planning process, including the planning calendar, instructions, control gates, Group-level validation and closure.Manage the Group estimate submission process and Group-level validation, and govern finance master data, including cost centre and overhead structures, hierarchies and allocation principles.Partner with Finance Development and relevant process owners to identify and define AI-enabled improvements to reporting and planning controls, validation and reconciliation, and support their implementation.Collaborate across functions to define reporting requirements for Oracle HFM and planning requirements for Anaplan, and ensure reporting and planning requirements are reflected in AI-enabled forecasting and analytics developments.Expectations for youYou hold an M.Sc. degree in Accounting, Finance, or another relevant field.You have several years of experience in group reporting, consolidation, controlling, or FP&A within an international organization.You have a strong understanding of management reporting, planning processes, and IFRS-based group reporting.You can effectively lead processes and collaborate with stakeholders across organizational boundaries.You have advanced English communication skills, both written and spoken.Advantageous experience:Oracle HFM, Anaplan, or other EPM platforms.AI-enabled solutions for finance processes, reporting, or data validation.Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.To succeed in this roleYou bring a structured and proactive approach to finance operations and enjoy taking ownership of critical processes.
