Job summary

Thor Dynamics in Helsinki is seeking a Machine Vision Engineer to design and implement advanced vision algorithms within our directed energy defense systems. You will advance object detection, tracking, and recognition while integrating with energy platforms and control systems.

The role requires 3+ years in machine vision, strong Python/C++ skills, and experience with OpenCV, TensorFlow or PyTorch. English fluency is essential; Finnish is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of machine vision or image processing in defense/high-tech sectors.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, and OpenCV/TensorFlow/PyTorch.
• Experience with camera calibration and sensor integration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop machine vision algorithms for detection, tracking, and recognition.
• Integrate machine vision with directed energy platforms and control systems.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and mechanical engineers.
• Conduct performance testing and optimize machine vision systems in real-world environments.
• Analyze datasets to improve system accuracy and robustness.
• Stay updated with computer vision, AI, and related technologies.
• Document development processes, algorithms, and test results.
• Support deployment and operation at the 70-acre test facility in Helsinki.
