Job summary

Coverys is seeking a Litigation Management Associate to audit legal and litigation support vendor invoices, educate panel defense counsel, and develop litigation management programs. The role includes data generation, training staff, and implementing initiatives across the unit.

The position requires law school graduation and active practice experience, strong analytical abilities, and proficiency with NetCore, Excel, and Datalytics.

Qualifications

• Law school graduate with 1-3 years of legal practice experience.
• Law school diploma and license to practice law in one or more states.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must perform mathematical calculations with a calculator.
• Strong analytical skills and reasoning ability, and ability to interact with outside counsel.
• Knowledge and use of NetCore, Microsoft Office (Excel), Datalytics.

Responsibilities

• Audit invoices from panel firms, coverage counsel, and litigation support vendors.
• Communicate and build relationships with panel firms and counsel.
• Negotiate alternate fee arrangements and review related contracts.
• Assist in selecting panel counsel and setting rates.
• Develop and implement in-house procedures for operations.
• Educate panel firms on in-house litigation management programs.
• Review Case Management Guidelines and monitor firm performance.
• Maintain legal audit data and generate quarterly and ad hoc reports.
• Analyze loss adjustment expenses and input into control mechanisms.
• Test software for audit/budget/case use and readiness.
• Train litigation management associates and claim staff on procedures.
• Coordinate with Claim staff on approvals, budgeting, and case management.
• Support development of Claim Dept. and Litigation Management Unit programs.
• Coordinate Defense Counsel Development Program and seminars.
