Job summary

ALTEN Finland is seeking a Senior/Lead Substation Design Engineer to join our energy infrastructure team. You will design medium‑voltage substations, coordinate with suppliers and customers, and drive technical documentation across the project lifecycle.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in international projects, contribute to design reviews and tendering, and help deliver robust MV solutions with a proactive engineering mindset.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in electrical substation design.
• Experience with medium-voltage equipment (transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, busbars, reactors, capacitors, surge arresters).
• Ability to prepare and review engineering documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working in international project environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop medium-voltage substation solutions and equipment layouts.
• Prepare and review SLDs, technical specifications, calculations, RFQs, and engineering documentation.
• Ensure technical compliance and coordinate interfaces with suppliers and project stakeholders.
• Support design reviews, tendering activities, and project delivery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, customers, and suppliers.
