Job summary

Metso Corporation in Espoo, Finland seeks an experienced Chief Engineer, Mechanical to strengthen the Flotation team within the Separations Business Line. You will lead design aspects, ensure quality, and manage schedules and budgets for customer projects at the Espoo headquarters.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, proven leadership in complex projects, strong PM skills, and fluency in English. Occasional travel and collaboration with internal/external teams are expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proven track record leading complex mechanical projects.
• Knowledge of industry codes and quality principles.
• Strong project management, scheduling and budgeting skills.
• Experience with 3D engineering and PDM tools.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Mining or metallurgical industry experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: lead design aspects in equipment delivery projects as primary contact.
• Quality Assurance: ensure designs meet industry codes and best practices.
• Documentation: create and maintain comprehensive project records.
• Customer Interaction: review customer tech docs and align with project goals.
• Scheduling and Budgeting: manage schedules and budgets with corrective actions.
• Cost Control: monitor costs and identify optimization opportunities.
• Collaboration: work with structural, electrical and other disciplines; support external design offices and internal groups.
