Job summary

Breagh Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a Mechanical Construction Manager to lead site-based delivery of mechanical building services on a major data centre project in Vaasa, Finland. You will oversee HVAC, pipework and plant installations, coordinating with subcontractors to meet programme milestones and quality standards.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent trade background with progression into management, along with strong leadership and commercial awareness.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or a strong trade background with progression into management.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Construction Manager or Mechanical Project Manager on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong background in HVAC systems, pipework and mechanical installations.
• Experience working on data centre or other mission-critical projects is highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership, with the ability to manage teams and subcontractors on site.

Responsibilities

• Lead all mechanical construction activities on site, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
• Coordinate mechanical installations including HVAC, pipework and plant systems to programme milestones.
• Prepare and implement method statements and risk assessments for all mechanical works.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure quality and productivity targets.
• Monitor programme delivery with two-week look-ahead planning.
• Oversee procurement of mechanical equipment and packages in line with project needs.
• Support commercial activities including variations, valuations and final accounts.
• Maintain strong communication with the client, consultants and wider project team.
• Ensure all works align with project specifications and quality standards.
