Job summary

Sandvik AB in Tampere (Myllypuro) is seeking a Chief Design Engineer to lead the design of face drilling machines from concept to launch. The role concentrates on strategic development and new product initiatives within Underground Drilling, with close cooperation across manufacturing, sourcing, and product support.

The successful candidate will have a technical engineering degree and several years of experience in product development, with strong leadership and English communication skills;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering.
• Several years of experience in conceptualizing and designing new solutions in a project working environment.
• Experience leading engineering work or teams, formally or informally.
• Able to communicate effectively in English; Finnish language skills are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering of new face drilling machines from concept to launch.
• Act as the technical and team lead in strategic development projects, focusing on new product development and component development.
• Ensure technical performance of products and compliance with customer requirements; drive systematic equipment improvements.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, product support, sourcing, and supplier network.
