Job summary

If Skadeforsikring is seeking a Data Engineering Lead to coach and mentor data engineers while delivering reliable data products on Azure Databricks. You will build a distributed Nordic team, set data ownership and quality standards, and promote DevOps practices in an agile environment.

This is a collaborative role with strong growth opportunities in MarTech data engineering. You will work closely with CRM & Marketing Solutions to enable scalable lakehouse services and trusted business data.

Qualifications

• Several years of end-to-end data engineering experience, preferably in a lead role.
• Experience coaching and mentoring data engineers; strong collaboration.
• Hands-on with Azure Databricks, DBT, ADF, and data lakehouse architecture.
• University degree or equivalent practical experience in software/CS.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a distributed data engineering team across Nordic countries and Latvia.
• Support growth, engagement, and development of chapter members.
• Set high data ownership, quality, and reliability standards.
• Foster collaborative, learning-oriented engineering culture.
• Contribute to solution development while coaching engineers in Azure Databricks.
• Enable cost-efficient, production-grade data products and lakehouse services.
• Establish engineering practices covering data quality, governance, CI/CD, IaC.
• Drive standardization and scalability across the Azure data platform.
• Build communities of practice across teams.
