Job summary

Mehiläinen Oy is building a new Group cloud environment and seeks a Lead Platform Engineer to design and implement a clean-sheet foundation for the Group’s digital services. The role focuses on making the cloud platform a product with self-service tooling, scalable IaC, and strong reliability and compliance across seven countries.

You will lead the architecture, mentor teams, and drive standards while delivering secure, auditable, and scalable cloud foundations in Azure and/or GCP.

Qualifications

• Extensive software development background with platform/lead/architect roles.
• Hands-on cloud design in Azure and/or GCP at scale.
• Expert-level IaC with Terraform/OpenTofu and modular design.
• Strong knowledge of containers, orchestration, and CI/CD.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into platform capabilities and ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

• Own Group cloud platform as a product across multiple domains.
• Design and build landing zones, identity, and multi-cloud strategy.
• Drive IaC, CI/CD, and governance, including security and GDPR/ISO requirements.
• Lead engineering standards, reviews, and cross-team collaboration.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to strategic architecture decisions.
