Role Description The Kitchen Assistant role is a Part‑time, on‑site position located in Kajaani. In this role, the Kitchen Assistant supports daily kitchen operations, including basic food preparation, assisting with cooking tasks, and organizing ingredients and supplies. Typical responsibilities include maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleaning work areas, equipment, and dishes, and ensuring that storage and waste handling follow safety guidelines. The Kitchen Assistant may help with serving food and beverages, supporting customer or guest interactions in a friendly and respectful manner. The role involves working closely with kitchen staff, following instructions from supervisors, and contributing to a safe, efficient, and cooperative work environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic Food Preparation tasks and support Cooking under guidance.
• Understanding of kitchen Hygiene practices and food safety standards.
• Experience or interest in Food & Beverage service in a kitchen or cafeteria setting.
• Strong Customer Service skills, with a respectful and helpful approach toward guests and coworkers.
• Reliability, punctuality, and ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Basic physical fitness to handle standing, lifting, and moving within a kitchen environment safely.
• Prior experience in a kitchen or catering environment is an advantage but not always required.
