Job summary

Malmi Children's Home in Helsinki is looking for two instructors (practical nurses) for permanent roles starting October 5, 2026. Positions are in special-level units at Fallpakantie and Jäkäläpolku, serving children aged 7-17.

You will support daily life, school attendance, leisure, social relations, and independence based on THL therapeutic institutional education principles. Instructors work in multidisciplinary teams with other practical nurses, social workers, and nurses, acting as primary

Qualifications

• Practical nurse with vocational qualification in social and health care.
• Good oral Finnish and satisfactory written proficiency.

• Criminal record extract and health-related clearances required.

• Act as the primary instructor (omaohjaaja) and participate in care and education planning.
• Implement and evaluate care and education plans for each child.

Job description

Malmi Children's Home in Helsinki is seeking two instructors (practical nurses) for permanent positions starting October 5, 2026. The roles are located in special-level units at Fallpakantie and Jäkäläpolku, serving children aged 7-17. The work involves supporting children's daily lives, including school attendance, leisure time, social relationships, and independence, based on individual needs and the therapeutic institutional education principles of THL.

Instructors work in multidisciplinary teams alongside other practical nurses, social workers, and nurses.

Key duties include acting as a primary instructor (omaohjaaja), implementing and evaluating care and education plans, network cooperation, and client documentation.

This is a shift-based three-shift work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Vocational qualification in social and health care (Practical Nurse)

• Drug test certificate before starting employment
• Occupational health assessment of ability to perform tasks
• Vaccination protection according to Section 48 and tuberculosis clearance according to Section 55 of the Communicable Diseases Act

• Medication permit or readiness to obtain one
