Job summary

Alibaba Cloud is seeking a Data Center Infrastructure Operations Engineer to support the operation and continuous improvement of its hyperscale data centers. You will establish standardized operational frameworks across facilities, IT systems, and assets, driving efficiency and digitalization.

The role emphasizes power, HVAC, and building automation knowledge, collaboration with stakeholders, and ongoing optimization of infrastructure operations to support Alibaba’s business ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, IT, IT Infrastructure or related field.
• Solid understanding of power distribution, electrical equipment, HVAC and building automation or strong IT hardware/software background.
• Strong learning agility and ability to adapt quickly.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with ownership mindset.
• Bilingual or multilingual preferred; Chinese proficiency is a strong advantage.
• Knowledge or experience in data analysis and data mining is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize standardized operating procedures and best practices for hyperscale data center infrastructure operations.
• Drive digitalization, automation, and intelligent operations management.
• Oversee implementation of operational standards and performance targets for incident, problem, change, risk, maintenance, and cross-functional coordination.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and resource utilization.
• Participate in planning, design, development, construction, and commissioning of hyperscale data center infrastructure (power, buildings, electrical, HVAC, monitoring, networks, servers).
• Stay current with industry trends and contribute to improvements in data center architecture and operation.
• Provide insights to continuously improve operational excellence and competitiveness of Alibaba’s IDC platform.
