Job summary

H&MV Engineering in Finland is seeking an experienced Primary Plant Technician (Suurjänniteasentaja) to lead HV transformer installation projects, including AIS and GIS equipment in substations and renewable energy sites. The role combines hands-on supervision with a focus on safety and quality.

You will mentor apprentices, work closely with commissioning and engineering teams, read general arrangement drawings and diagrams, perform documentation, and travel within northern Europe as needed.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in high-voltage or substation settings.
• Certifications in electrical fitting, HV systems, or transformer installation are desirable.
• Able to read electrical schematics and follow safety protocols in HV environments.

Responsibilities

• Safe installation, assembly, maintenance, testing, and inspection of high-voltage primary plant equipment on substations and power system projects.
• Ensure work meets project specs, procedures, and safety/quality standards.
• Travel within northern Europe as needed.
• Install, assemble, and maintain transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear, circuit breakers, disconnectors, and instrument transformers.
• Support oil filling, vacuum treatment, leak testing, and related activities.
• Follow all HSE procedures, RAMS, permits-to-work, and client requirements.
• Ensure compliance with local electrical regulations and site safety.
