Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Vaasa, Finland, is seeking a Project Lead Engineer to drive the design and delivery of complete substations for power grids. You will lead engineering work and collaborate with customers, suppliers and partners on 10–400kV installations.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, 3–5 years in engineering or project management, and experience with medium to high voltage projects. English fluency is essential, Finnish/Swedish an advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in engineering, R&D or project management.
• Experience with Medium to High Voltage Projects in Power Systems.
• Site works experience is an advantage.
• Fluent in English; Finnish/Swedish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering work in customer projects, typically electric power installations 10–400kV.
• Coordinate with customers, sub-suppliers and internal/external partners.
• Plan and manage engineering resources per Hitachi Energy governance.
• Communicate with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify risks and opportunities, contribute to continuous improvements.
