Job summary

Ball Corporation is seeking a Plant HR Manager to deliver on-site HR services, build people-management capability, and drive efficient operations at our Mantsala plant in Finland.

You will partner with plant leadership to deploy global HR strategies, oversee labor relations, implement policies, and support talent development, performance management, payroll administration and employee well-being.

Qualifications

• Experience in an international manufacturing/consumer goods/industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation.
• Excellent communication across organisational levels and customer service mindset.
• Previous experience in an HR business-partnering role.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and SAP SuccessFactors or equivalent HR system.
• Experience working in unionised environments.
• Fluent in English and Finnish.

Responsibilities

• Being the ambassador of Ball’s culture, driving the right behaviours amongst all plant employees.
• Implementing new regional/global HR policies and harmonizing with current ones.
• Monitoring compliance with regulatory ethical standards and local employee relations laws.
• Providing advice and support to managers in grievance and disciplinary procedures.
• Assisting plant leadership with communicating organisational changes.
• Developing relationships with local universities, colleges, schools and communities as appropriate.
• Driving goal-setting and performance management processes, following up with managers.
• Lead and participate in negotiations with the unions and collective bargaining agreements; address union-related issues such as grievance resolution.
• Assessing talent risk for the site and determining strategies to develop plant succession plans.
• General HR administration and payroll supervision (absence management, offer letters, contracts of employment, changes to terms and conditions).

Position Overview

The Plant HR Manager is responsible for delivering on-site HR service in support of people strategy, building people management capability within stakeholder group, and driving consistency and efficiency in operational delivery. You will work with plant management team to develop the local HR strategy and deploy the global/regional one, and support various HR-related activities.

What are we looking for?

• Experience working within international manufacturing/consumer goods/industrial environment.
• Confident knowledge and working experience of employment legislation.
• Strong communication skills across all organisational levels and customer service mindset.
• Previous experience in an HR business-partnering role.
• Confident in Microsoft Office and experience using SAP SuccessFactors or equivalent HR database.
• Experience working in unionised environment.
• Fluent English and Finnish.

Work Environment

This role requires on-site presence at our Mantsala plant.

Hiring Range

57750 - 77000 EUR gross per year. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market benchmarks. Depending on these factors, the actual offer may fall above or below the posted range.
