Job summary

g2 Recruitment is seeking an HSE Leader to oversee Health, Safety and Environmental activities on major infrastructure construction projects in Finland. You will ensure adherence to Finnish HSE legislation, client requirements and project standards, while conducting site inspections, risk assessments and safety reviews.

The role requires fluent Finnish and English, 5+ years in HSE leadership, and strong experience in incident investigations, corrective actions, and driving a proactive safety

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in an HSE leadership role within infrastructure, civil engineering, utilities, or major construction projects.
• Proven experience managing HSE activities on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Fluent Finnish and English are required.
• Strong knowledge of Finnish HSE regulations and industry best practices.
• Experience conducting audits, inspections, incident investigations, and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead all Health, Safety and Environmental activities on major infrastructure construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with Finnish HSE legislation, client requirements and project standards.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, risk assessments and safety reviews.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformities; implement corrective actions.
• Monitor HSE performance of contractors and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Deliver HSE training, site inductions and toolbox talks.
• Prepare and maintain HSE reports, KPIs and project documentation.
• Drive a strong safety culture and continuous improvement across site operations.
