Job summary

ONNEC Group Finland is seeking a Health & Safety Supervisor to join our Nordic team. This is a hands-on role where you will support project and site teams, ensuring health and safety compliance and helping drive a strong safety culture across our Finnish operations.

The position involves regular travel to customer sites, including data centres and construction environments. Fluent Finnish and English are required, with experience in HSE or related roles highly valued.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Health & Safety, HSE or similar role.
• Experience in construction, data centres, engineering, telecommunications or technical projects.
• Strong knowledge of Finnish health and safety legislation.
• Experience conducting site inspections and incident investigations.
• Willingness to travel regularly within Finland.
• Fluent in Finnish and English.

Health & Safety Supervisor - Finland

As our operations in Finland continue to grow, ONNEC Finland is looking for a Health & Safety Supervisor to join our Nordic team.

This is a hands-on role where you will play an important part in supporting our projects and ensuring that health and safety remains at the heart of how we operate. Working closely with project teams, site management and the wider Nordic HSE function, you will provide practical guidance, monitor compliance and help drive a strong safety culture across our Finnish operations.

The role involves regular travel to customer sites, including data centres and construction environments, where you will carry out inspections, support project teams and ensure that our work is delivered safely and in line with both ONNEC standards and local requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

• Support project and site teams with day-to-day health and safety matters, providing practical advice and guidance when needed.
• Carry out regular site inspections and audits, identifying potential risks and following up on actions and non-conformities.
• Help ensure our projects comply with Finnish health and safety legislation as well as ONNEC and customer requirements.
• Promote a positive safety culture and encourage safe working practices across our sites and teams.
• Support the investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses, helping identify root causes and ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
• Maintain accurate health and safety documentation, records and reporting.
• Review and support the development of local HSE procedures, systems of work and working practices.
• Coordinate and support health and safety training across the Finnish operation.
• Work closely with project managers, site teams and the wider Nordic HSE team on compliance and continuous improvement.
• Keep up to date with relevant Finnish health, safety and welfare legislation and communicate important changes to the business.
• Provide regular updates and reporting on HSE performance, risks and activities to management.

About You

We are looking for someone who is practical, confident and comfortable working closely with operational teams in a fast-paced project environment.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Health & Safety, HSE or similar role.
• Experience working within construction, data centres, engineering, telecommunications or another technical/project-based environment.
• Good knowledge of Finnish health and safety legislation and workplace requirements.
• Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and incident investigations.
• The confidence to challenge unsafe practices and provide clear, practical advice to employees and managers.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently while also collaborating with teams across different functions and locations.
• Fluent in Finnish and English.
• A willingness to travel regular to customer sites within Finland.

Experience within the data centre industry would be particularly valuable, but we are also interested in candidates from other safety-critical construction or technical environments.
