Job summary

Nordecon Oy in Riihimäki is converting an industrial bakery into a data centre for AI and HPC workloads. We seek a hands-on Data Center Deployment Engineer to build and run the facility, owning procedures rather than following existing ones.

You will plan and oversee installation of servers, storage, networking, and power; coordinate with vendors; configure and troubleshoot; write documentation; participate in ISO 27001 work and support operators once live. Finnish fluency required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience deploying and operating data centre infrastructure.
• Strong Linux skills.
• Fluent Finnish and good English.
• Willingness to be on site in Riihimäki and to take part in an on-call rotation once the site is live.
• Degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field or equivalent experience earned on the job.

About the role

Nordecon Oy is converting a former industrial bakery building in Riihimäki into a data centre designed for AI and high performance computing workloads. Repurposing an existing industrial site brings interesting engineering problems a new build never has.

We are looking for a hands‑on Data Center Deployment Engineer to help us build it and then run it. You will be part of the core team in this role, which means you will not inherit someone else’s procedures, you will build them.

Founded in 2006, Nordecon is an OEM and solution provider with nearly two decades of experience in mobile, server and custom‑built desktop systems. The data centre is the next phase of that business.

What you will do

• Plan and oversee the installation of data centre infrastructure: servers, storage, networking and power systems

What helps you succeed in this role

• Hands‑on experience deploying and operating data centre infrastructure
• Solid understanding of network and data cabling, and of network and power capacity planning
• Strong Linux skills
• Working knowledge of HVAC and cooling dynamics in a data centre context
• Fluent Finnish and good English
• A degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field or equivalent experience earned on the job
• Willingness to be on site in Riihimäki, and to take part in an on‑call rotation once the site is live

Nice to have

• Experience converting or retrofitting an existing building for data centre or other critical facility use
• Experience commissioning a new site or a major capacity expansion
• Liquid‑cooled or high‑density deployments
• Exposure to ISO 27001, ISO 9001 or similar management systems
• Electrical or HVAC qualifications
