The journey working at NIB is a unique one and will provide you with valuable experiences. We value diversity and we are a community of some 270 professionals located in the heart of Helsinki. We are seeking an experienced professional to join the Funding & Investor Relations team as Funding Manager based in Helsinki.

About The Role

The Treasury operations are carried out by three front-office units: Funding & Investor Relations, Asset & Liability Management, and Portfolio Management. The Funding & Investor Relations team is a small, highly committed team responsible for securing cost-efficient funding for NIB's lending and treasury activities through a diversified funding strategy across products, currencies, markets and investor segments.

In this role, you will contribute to the execution of NIB's funding programme, maintain and develop relationships with investors and market participants, and support the continuous development of the Bank's funding activities and market presence. You will work closely with colleagues across Treasury & Finance, as well as other relevant departments within the Bank, and represent NIB in interactions with investors, investment banks, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute funding and liability management transactions across international capital markets, including benchmark issuances, private placements and associated hedge transactions – this includes:
    • Monitor funding markets and investor demand and identify issuance opportunities.
    • Maintain and develop relationships with institutional investors, investment banks and other market participants, hereunder participate in investor meetings, roadshows, conferences and other market-related events.
    • Manage the new issuance processes from front-to-back: Deal capture (treasury system Summit), liaising with the Legal Department, Middle Office and Back Office.
    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of funding frameworks, documentation, processes and IT infrastructure. Participate in strategic developments aimed at improving the Funding and Investor Relations processes.
    • Prepare market updates, investor materials, funding analyses and management presentations.
    • Support the Bank's sustainable funding activities and contribute to maintaining NIB's strong position in sustainable finance markets.
    • Collaborate with colleagues across Treasury & Finance and other departments at NIB.
The Ideal Candidate Should Have
  • Proven experience in funding, debt capital markets, fixed income, treasury or working with investor relations, preferably within a Sovereign, Supranational and Agency (SSA) issuer, financial institution or investment bank. Good understanding of the functioning of international capital markets, fixed-income products and funding strategies.
  • Holistic understanding of the funding process – from pricing and structuring through primary settlement – with a strong sense of ownership and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of sustainable finance markets and relevant markets and regulatory developments is considered an advantage.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to represent NIB professionally in bilateral and group presentation settings.
  • Strong analytical and IT skills, including programming capabilities and the ability to leverage data, automation, and artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance decision-making, optimize treasury processes and drive innovation in a modern treasury function.
  • A proactive and collaborative working style with excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • High professional proficiency in English; additional Nordic or Baltic languages are considered an advantage.
  • Relevant university degree in finance, economics, business administration or a related field.
