Job summary

CUJO AI is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Firmware (Protection Services) team responsible for on-device network security and parental control software in operator home routers. The role blends people leadership with deep technical engagement, owning the team roadmap and delivery while coaching engineers.

You will work with native code in C and Rust on embedded Linux, guiding performance budgets, cross‑platform porting, and CI/CD test strategies in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software, firmware or networking engineering experience.
• 2+ years in a formal or informal leadership role.
• Hands-on background in native code on Linux, able to review C/Rust designs.
• Experience with embedded Linux build systems (OpenWrt/Yocto/Buildroot).

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and grow a firmware/embedded team; conduct regular 1:1s and performance feedback.
• Own delivery of the team roadmap; plan, prioritise and unblock work.
• Guide network security, parental control and device intelligence features on Linux-based CPE devices.
• Participate in technical design and architecture reviews; guide native code decisions.
