Job summary

HW3 is seeking Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineers to support a major data centre project in Finland. The role is site-based, starting mid-January 2027 for 6–8 months, with a potential extension.

You will perform Level 3 commissioning of fire detection and alarm systems, configure panels, address devices, test VESDA, and support handover. On-site work requires strong ESSER/VESDA experience and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Hands-on fire alarm commissioning experience.
• Experience with ESSER fire alarm systems.
• Practical commissioning or testing experience with VESDA systems.
• Experience with panel configuration, device addressing, loop testing, and fault-finding.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and complete commissioning records.
• Good technical English and the ability to work independently on site.
• Experience with Honeywell fire detection systems and data centre projects is advantageous.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Level 3 commissioning of fire detection and alarm systems
• Configure fire alarm panels, address devices, and carry out loop and point-to-point testing
• Commission and test VESDA aspirating smoke detection systems
• Verify system interfaces and support integration with Honeywell EBI
• Troubleshoot commissioning defects and complete testing and handover documentation
• Support customer witness testing and final acceptance

Hands-on fire alarm commissioning experience

Proven experience with ESSER fire alarm systems

Practical commissioning or testing experience with VESDA systems

Experience with panel configuration, device addressing, loop testing, and fault-finding

Ability to interpret technical drawings and complete commissioning records

Good technical English and the ability to work independently on site

Experience with Honeywell fire detection systems, BMS integration, and data centre projects is advantageous, but previous data centre experience is not mandatory.

Candidates from industrial, commercial, or other technically complex projects with strong ESSER and VESDA commissioning experience are encouraged to apply.

Candidates must be willing to complete applicable Finnish electrical work and site health-and-safety certification requirements before mobilisation.
