Job summary

Mehiläinen Oy in Helsinki is seeking a Financial Controller to join the Group Consolidation Team. You will collaborate with finance colleagues across multiple countries to ensure accurate IFRS reporting, consolidation and CSRD compliance, while using Anaplan for consolidation and Fatman for IFRS16 tasks.

The role may be tailored to fit your background, offering a hybrid work setup and exposure to international M&A activity within a leading European healthcare group.

Qualifications

• A relevant higher university degree (e.g., MSc Econ).
• A few years of experience in financial accounting, group accounting or background in auditing.
• Understanding of consolidation systems, accounting systems and finance processes; understanding IFRS or willingness to learn quickly.
• Strong Excel skills and motivation to develop technical solutions to improve reporting.
• Fluent in Finnish and English; materials prepared in both languages.
• Interest and capabilities in technical solutions (e.g., databases, SQL, Power BI) are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Mehiläinen’s financial statements, interim reports and trustworthy monthly financial reporting and analyses with the team.
• Monthly group consolidation tasks with the team.
• Controlling tasks for IFRS16 lease accounting in Fatman and preparing IFRS16 journal entries.
• Participate in and develop CSRD reporting capabilities.
• Participate in internal controls testing.
• Admin and maintenance tasks in the consolidation tool Anaplan.
• Participate in development projects.

About the Role

As a Financial Controller, you will be an integral part of our Group consolidation team. You will collaborate closely with finance colleagues and other stakeholders in all our operating countries. Our team is responsible for Mehiläinen’s annual and interim reports, IFRS accounting principles, and the consolidation system Anaplan. Additionally, we play an important role in ensuring accurate CSRD reporting. Mehiläinens international M&A activity is visible in our teams day-to-day work, and characteristics of a rapidly growing company are visible in our work. The role can be tailored to some extent based on the candidate’s competence and background.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare Mehiläinen’s financial statements, interim reports and trustworthy monthly financial reporting and analyses together with the team
• Monthly group consolidation tasks together with the team
• Controlling tasks for IFRS16 lease accounting in Fatman and preparing IFRS16 journal entries
• Participate in and develop Mehiläinens CSRD reporting capabilities
• Participate in Mehiläinens internal controls testing
• Admin and maintenance tasks in our consolidation tool Anaplan
• Participate in development projects
