Job summary

Virta Ltd is seeking an Engineering Manager for the eMSP & Driver Services team to lead nine engineers across mobile and backend domains. You will own delivery, quality, and platform integrity, while shaping the team’s growth and collaboration with Product and Design.

The role emphasizes leadership, architectural input, and hands-on influence without daily coding, in a hybrid work setting that values reliability and user trust across Europe.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager leading a product engineering team — hiring, developing, and managing performance of software engineers.
• Strong software engineering background with architectural insight and technical credibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the team: coach nine engineers and drive career development.
• Own delivery: plan with Product, set realistic commitments, and ensure predictable execution.
• Own quality and operations: drive production ownership, incident readiness, and L3 support.
• Safeguard the platform: develop controls against fraud, misuse, and threats.
• Drive modernization: guide decomposition from PHP monolith toward TypeScript/NestJS services.
• Hire and shape the team: recruit, onboard, and make performance calls.
• Partner across the organization: collaborate with Product, Design, and other teams.
