Job summary

Framery is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join our team at The Factory in Tampere. You will develop software and data capture algorithms for Framery smart pods and sensor devices, enabling offices to be more efficient and user-friendly.

We value self-driven individuals who own their work and validate solutions with the team. Fluency in English is required, Finnish is a bonus. Hybrid work and hands-on hardware testing at the office in Tampere are expected.

Qualifications

• Zephyr RTOS development experience required.
• Embedded Linux development across device lifecycle.
• Strong C and Python programming skills.
• Networking features, cellular modems, Wi-Fi, CAN bus, MQTT/AMQP.
• Self-directed with ownership mindset.
• Fluent written and spoken English; Finnish is a bonus.

As an Embedded Software Engineer, your code will power tens of thousands of devices globally, turning complex technical challenges into seamless solutions that redefine how workspaces are used worldwide.

We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join our team at "The Factory" in Tampere.

What You’ll Do:

As an Embedded Software Engineer at Framery, you will develop software and data capture algorithms for Framery smart pods and sensor devices, making offices more efficient and nicer to use everywhere. You’ll join an experienced seven-person embedded team shaping innovative digital services, ensuring our products are intelligent, connected, and future-ready.

We are looking for someone self-driven and comfortable making independent technical decisions, whether that means prioritizing urgent bug fixes or proposing new technical solutions. Rather than following ready-made specs, you’ll take ownership of your work and validate solutions together with the team.

What We Expect from You:

• Zephyr RTOS: Strong, hands-on development experience with Zephyr is essential in this role.
• Embedded Linux: Practical experience or familiarity with embedded Linux development across the device lifecycle.
• Core Development: Solid C and Python programming skills.
• Connectivity & IoT: Good understanding of networking features, cellular modems, Wi-Fi, CAN bus, and protocols such as MQTT/AMQP.
• Self-Directed Mindset: You thrive when given ownership and the independence to build impactful technical solutions. We offer you the trust and freedom to shape your work - alongside a close-knit group of product managers, designers, and business stakeholders who share your drive.
• Languages: Fluent written and spoken English. Finnish is considered a bonus, but not mandatory.

Pluses / Nice-to-haves:

• Experience with Yocto SDK build processes.
