Job summary

Patria in Tampere is seeking an Electronics Engineer for UAS to contribute to the design, development, integration, testing, validation and optimization of avionics, power, communication, sensor, and control electronics.

You will collaborate with software, mechanical, systems and test engineers to ensure reliable, safe, and high‑performing electronic solutions throughout the product lifecycle and to help introduce new technologies into engineering, testing, manufacturing and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in electronic system development, testing, integration, or validation.
• Knowledge of analog and digital electronics, embedded hardware, and electronic design principles.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, and signal analyzers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and integrate electronic systems for UAS.
• Develop avionics, power distribution, communication, navigation, sensors, and control electronics.
• Perform circuit design, component selection, and hardware integration.
• Support lab testing, troubleshooting, validation, and verification.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system integration and performance.
• Contribute to design reviews, interface definitions, and engineering reports.
• Evaluate and deploy new electronic technologies for UAS platforms.

• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for electronic issues.
• Advance electronic architectures and support lifecycle improvements.

Electronics Engineer, UAS

The Electronics Engineer supports the development of electronic systems for unmanned aerial systems (UAS), contributing to the design, development, integration, testing, validation, and optimization of avionics, power, communication, sensor, and control systems. The role works closely with software, mechanical, systems, and test engineers to ensure reliable, safe, and high-performing electronic solutions throughout the product lifecycle. The position also supports the integration and adoption of new technologies, products, and capabilities into engineering, testing, manufacturing, and operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, integration, and testing of electronic systems for UAS platforms.
• Participate in the development of avionics, power distribution, communication, navigation, sensor, and control electronics.
• Perform circuit design, component selection, schematic development, and hardware integration activities.
• Support laboratory testing, troubleshooting, validation, and verification of electronic systems and subsystems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful system integration, functionality, and performance.
• Contribute to technical documentation, design reviews, interface definitions, and engineering reports.
• Support the evaluation, integration, and deployment of new technologies and electronic solutions within UAS platforms.
• Support compliance with applicable regulatory, quality, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to electronic system issues.
• Design, develop, integrate, and optimize electronic systems and architectures, contributing to the advancement of products and capabilities throughout their lifecycle.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.

• Knowledge of EMC/EMI requirements, environmental testing, and reliability engineering.
• Understanding of systems engineering principles and product lifecycle processes.
