Job summary

PE Global is partnering with a leading European data centre delivery partner to recruit a Health & Safety Manager for projects in Helsinki, Finland. You will oversee Environmental, Health & Safety across the project lifecycle, shaping policies and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in EHS on construction projects, NEBOSH/IOSH credentials, and strong leadership to drive a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement on-site.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Environmental Health & Safety or related field.
• 5+ years in an EHS role within construction/engineering.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practices.
• Experience managing EHS on construction projects.
• Certifications such as NEBOSH/IOSH are essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee Environmental, Health & Safety activities across project lifecycle.
• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and RAMS aligned with requirements.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all levels.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and subcontractors to ensure EHS alignment.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with health & safety standards.
• Review and approve safety documentation including RAMS.
• Manage incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Deliver safety inductions and toolbox talks, and ongoing training.
• Maintain records of incidents, inspections, audits, and safety metrics.
• Attend Site Meetings and Project Reviews; report to senior management.
• Prepare and issue EHS reports to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with environmental permits and sustainability requirements.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
