Job summary

Metso is seeking a Backlog & Exception Management (BEM) Specialist to strengthen delivery performance and customer outcomes. You will manage backlog execution across markets, working with Customer Service, Supply Chain, Logistics and Operations to ensure timely orders, mitigate risks, and proactively resolve exceptions.

The role emphasizes data-led backlog governance, KPI reporting, and continuous improvement across functions to support the new operating model and sustainable customer

Qualifications

• Experience in Customer Service, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations.
• Strong understanding of order execution, backlog management, or customer delivery processes.
• Ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced, complex environment.
• Confidence in managing escalations and working across multiple stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with attention to data accuracy and detail.
• Strong communication skills and customer focus.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily backlog execution, including monitoring backlog health, ageing, and risks.
• Identify and prioritise exception cases, ensuring timely resolution and escalation.
• Support accurate ATP and customer-date management.
• Coordinate expediting activities for critical customer orders.
• Provide visibility through backlog reporting, analytics, and KPIs.
• Drive structured escalation where customer commitments are at risk.
• Work cross-functionally to align execution across Business Areas and Market Areas.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of backlog processes, data quality, and governance.
