Job summary

UPM - The Biofore Company is seeking a Data Engineering Lead to guide data development and governance across the organization. You will build scalable data products, set guidelines, and mentor engineers while collaborating with platform teams and business stakeholders to align data solutions.

You will bring 7+ years of data experience and hands-on Snowflake, dbt, and Azure skills, plus strong English communication. Helsinki or Tampere-based position offering a meaningful, impact-driven role.

Qualifications

7+ years of data development and operations experience.
Hands-on Snowflake, dbt and Azure experience.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

Lead and shape data engineering practices across the organization.
Own and develop data engineering guidelines, standards and technology choices.
Act as hands-on expert, supporting teams with practical implementation.
Coach and mentor data engineers, strengthening capabilities.
Collaborate with internal and external data engineers to drive best practices.
Work cross-functionally with platform teams, governance and business stakeholders.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with key stakeholders.
Contribute to UPM's data governance initiatives and governance adoption.
