Job summary

Google is seeking an Operations Technician to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and server software in a cutting-edge data center environment. You will work on networks, routers, hubs, and switches while leading small project teams on installations.

The role emphasizes physical deployment, proactive maintenance, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and performance of Google’s infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience assembling mechanical or electrical systems or repairing components.
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer and server hardware.
• Experience with networking protocols.
• Ability to lift 50 lb (23 kg) and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, nights and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across teams.
• Report issues and follow procedures to troubleshoot complex equipment or infrastructure.
• Maintain data security and integrity per Google standards.
• Disassemble end-of-life equipment through maintenance or part replacement.
• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on servers and infrastructure.
