Job summary

Nortal is looking for a hands-on Data & AI Engineer to join our team and work at a large Finnish industrial sector company, strengthening the execution of their data and AI programme. You will sit inside the client's team and take prioritised business use cases from scoping to production, so that ideas reach production and start delivering value within weeks.

You will collaborate with the client's data, AI, platform and architecture specialists, and benefit from agentic development approaches

Qualifications

• Strong data engineering skills: designing, building and productionising pipelines.
• Experience with Databricks or a comparable platform, and the ability to pick it up quickly.
• Solid data modelling skills.
• Hands-on AI engineering experience with agentic solutions (LLM APIs, agent frameworks, orchestration, tool calling, RAG).
• General enterprise IT understanding: networking, IAM (Entra), cloud (GCP or Azure).
• Taking ownership: able to progress without a finished spec and communicate clearly with business and tech teams.

Responsibilities

• Take business use cases from scoping to production, collaborating with stakeholders and technical teams.
• Design, build and productionise data pipelines for downstream use.
• Build agentic AI solutions on top of the data platform.
• Collaborate with client data, AI, platform and architecture experts to fit enterprise environment.
• Own both design and hands-on delivery, keeping momentum even with partial information.
