Job summary

Nortal is seeking an AI-Driven Software & DevOps Engineer to join a Finnish industrial sector client, building an AI-native development environment and engineering CI/CD automation. You will oversee agentic AI use cases from scoping to production, collaborating with the client’s data, AI, platform and architecture teams to deliver value quickly.

The role blends DevOps, AI engineering and enterprise IT, requiring hands-on cloud work with GCP/Azure, and experience delivering agentic AI solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong DevOps skills: CI/CD, automation, and development/build environment engineering.
• Hands-on cloud expertise in GCP and/or Azure.
• Experience building agentic AI solutions including LLM APIs and integrations, agent frameworks and orchestration, tool calling, and MCP knowledge.
• Strong programming skills in C#, Python or TypeScript.
• Broad enterprise IT understanding: networking, IAM (Entra), APIs/integrations, and security practices.
• Taking ownership and clear communication with business and technical teams.
• Good English skills; Finnish or Swedish a plus.

Overview

Are you a senior engineer who likes building solid foundations and then putting AI to work on top of them? Are you equally at home with CI/CD and automation, cloud platforms and agentic AI solutions? Then this role might be just right for you.

Nortal is looking for a AI-Driven Software & DevOps Engineer to join our team and work at a large Finnish industrial sector company, strengthening the execution of their data and AI programme. You will sit inside the client's team and take prioritised business use cases from scoping to production, so that ideas reach production and start delivering value within weeks. You will work close to the business, alongside the client's data, AI, platform and architecture specialists. AI-assisted and agentic development (Claude Code or similar) is a core part of how the work is done.

This role combines DevOps, AI engineering and enterprise IT, so a broad skill set matters more than deep specialization in one area.

What you will do

• Develop an AI-native build and development environment and the developer experience, together with the client's cloud and software engineering teams.
• Implement agentic AI use cases from prototype to production, including agent infrastructure and integrations.
• Build automation and integrations across cloud services and integration platforms such as Frends.
• Take business use cases from scoping to production, working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Own both the design and the hands-on delivery, and keep things moving even when the full picture isn't clear yet.

What will help you to succeed

• Strong DevOps skills: CI/CD, automation, and development and build environment engineering.
• Hands-on cloud expertise in GCP and/or Azure.
• Hands-on experience building agentic AI solutions, such as LLM APIs and integrations, agent frameworks and orchestration, tool and function calling, RAG, and emerging standards like MCP (Model Context Protocol).
• Strong programming skills, for example in C#, Python or TypeScript.
• Broad enterprise IT understanding: networking, identity and access management (Entra), APIs and integrations, and security practices.
• Taking ownership: you can make progress without a finished spec and communicate clearly with both business and technical people.
• Good English skills. Finnish or Swedish is a plus.

Nice to have:

experience operating agentic solutions in production, including monitoring, error handling, guardrails and evaluation. Infrastructure as code (for example Terraform), FinOps and a working knowledge of data platforms such as Databricks are also valuable.

Location

- worth being clear about: the role is on-site at the client's Helsinki office, with flexibility agreed case by case. The whole working model depends on being physically close to the business, so this isn't one that can be done fully remote.
